My Review Of Shattered Lies (Devastation Duet, Book 1) by Winter Paige
When I start to read a new author and sometimes even a new series by an author I already love, it can take me a while to get into a book. Kind of like you’re getting to know new friends for the first time.
Amazingly this was not the case with Winter Paige’s Shattered Lies. At all.
I think it took me all of 10 minutes to fall for these characters. And fall, I did. Head over heels.
These fuckers got me right in the feels. OMG, the feels!
ELIANA
The Princess
She is one hell on wheels, adorable explosion of trouble. I love her!
Found alone, scared and starving at 8 years old she manages to melt the hearts of the bad, bad men that found her.
They, just like me, loved her almost immediately and took her home to protect and love.
She grows up in the home of a very bad man (the king) with his soldiers (her knight, her protector and her prince Charming) and is treated like the princess she demands they recognise her as. The older she gets though, the harder and darker her life gets.
Promises are made and then broken. Hearts are filled and then shattered. Lines are drawn and then crossed.
COSTIN – The Knight
There are few stories out there that can really make me feel the love. This guy? Och man, he has it bad. A soul-deep connection.
