He’s given her a reason to live –If he doesn’t get her killed first.
For years, Kaydia Voss served as a psychic assassin –known as Scarlet– for a criminal cartel, bound to them through a drug addiction they forced upon her. Now, she’s broken free of her chains, and has turned her well developed skills back on those who made her into a killer.
Quinn Hale is a for hire mercenary, looking for work on the distant planet of Miruta. Working with Kaydia is lucrative, but what he doesn’t expect is to fall for the mysterious assassin. Or that she might share his attraction. A steamy night spent together awakens exciting new feelings in both of them.
Quinn is the first person who gives Kaydia something to live for, beyond mere vengeance. But secrets both carry threaten their future together, and even their very lives.

My Review Scarlet Reflections (Shadow’s Eclipse Book 1) by MM Glenn
For me, sci-fi can be a tricky genre. It’s either hit or miss, so I was pleasantly surprised when I started this book and liked it!
The characters were super enjoyable and the focus was on them rather than just the world-building, which I personally prefer.
Don’t get me wrong, the world-building was great but I’d much rather read about the characters and their shenanigans than the full history of an alien planet. Just my personal preference.
SCARLET / KAYDIA
Kaydia is a master of disguise which comes in handy as she’s a kick-ass assassin (I love dangerous women). She’s a woman scorned and she is out for revenge. And I certainly don’t blame her.
She was used and abused by some seriously nasty and powerful people but she managed to pull herself out of intense drug addiction that these people forced her into and pulled her life together again and now she’s gunning for the bastards.
She doesn’t have anyone close and that’s usually cool with her (a bit like me) but then she meets Quinn and after an extremely sexy night together she realises she could actually come to like him quite a bit. But she has secrets. What’s a girl hell-bent on revenge to do?
QUINN
I liked this guy. He’s cocky as hell but it’s quite a good look on him. He was easy to picture and the further I got into the book, the more I enjoyed his sassy attitude, not to mention his muscly body.
He’s a merc. and good at it. Kickin’ ass and takin’ names, lol.
The thing is, this guy has secrets too. Big ones that may cause an issue for any hope of a future with Kaydia.
SEX SCENES
One thing I will say for Ms Glenn is that she can write a sex scene y’all! They had one night that was filled with some awesome action.
It was hot, it was steamy and best of all the dirty talk was spot freakin’ on. Not too much but certainly got my motor running!
FINAL THOUGHTS on SCARLET REFLECTIONS by MM Glenn
I enjoyed this book a lot but it wasn’t quite dark enough for me, again just personal preference. It would be great for someone more into sci-fi and erotic, rather than dark.
In saying that, there were a couple of twists in the story that had me really surprised and that kept interested all the way through.
